Doula Services Update

Happy new year!

2022 was a really great year for births. I got to attend hospital births again following some strict covid policies, and visit new hospitals and birth centers I hadn’t before. I got to work with a lot of great doctors and midwives and fellow doulas. I’m really proud of all the moms the got to serve and the babies I got to witness enter the world. If you were a client of mine and feel inclined to leave a review for me, you can do so here. I would really appreciate the support!

It’s been a while since I’ve updated this space, and since it’s a new year following the birth of my 4th baby, I figured now would be a great time to do so. A few things have changed regarding my doula services, so an update will hopefully cover all of those bases.

Since I began doula work in 2019 I’ve gotten to experience a lot of different births; 1st- 5th time moms, VBACs, hospital births, inductions, cesareans, birth centers, home births, and so many more variations of beautiful births. In 2021 I started working with a Houston based doula agency called Marley and moo, and through Marley and moo I got to meet so many great doulas and gain a lot more knowledge and experience.

In September 2022, I had my fourth baby and decided I needed to take a little bit of a hiatus from doula work in order to focus on my family. Doula work, especially doula work in Houston is a lot for me at the moment, and I couldn’t commit to that. I decided to end my time with Marley and Moo, and not take births for a while.

I will take on more birth clients with summer/ fall 2023 due dates, but with a restricted service area. In order to be closer to my family and drive less I will only be taking clients in the Conroe and Woodlands areas. I have experience with the hospitals, birth centers and midwives in this area, and feel confident traveling in these areas. I do plan on allowing exceptions for repeat clients though because I really do love my clients dearly, and would love to continue to support my moms as their families grow.

In addition to scaling down my service area, I also have increased my prices. Since beginning doula work I now have a variety of birth experiences, have attended multiple trainings and continued to learn. Some of those trainings were a spinning babies training, the VBAC link training, and added CLC to my name. I will offer my same birth support package, and will take on postpartum support and lactation support clients as my schedule allows. Updates to those prices are listed here.

I look forward to 2023 and all the families that I may get the privilege of serving this year! If you’re interested in doula services of any kind please reach out to me and I look forward to hearing from you!
